We loved the final battle scene, because we got to pelt each other with bagels in the Teacher’s Lounge. We finally got to see what’s behind those doors! We also liked filming walking and dialog scenes with our main characters, because it let us develop as actors. Dashing action scenes were exciting, even though some of us were shivering in the wind. Lastly, we loved filming montage scenes and channeling a certain all-American President’s negative–we mean truthful– energy by calling our hero a loser.

The option to do these things can open up more opportunities to do things in the future. Even one of us with five lines felt he had the opportunity to improve with voice acting skills. It gave us an insight to how being on a film set would actually be. (Mr Drew would like to point out that the one of us that has spent time on film sets says Mr Drew was slightly calmer– but not quite calm.)

Cold. Planning outside scenes in Winter was rough. Being able to insult people was hard, even when it was called for. The script-shortening process was very tough. We had to work hard to agree on scenes.

Think about your scripts and shooting schedules– start early, even before the Film Prize begins. Pre-plan any costuming needs– and really consider your resources when you write your script.

And use your advisor’s expertise. As them questions.
