FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

Ideally, the audience should take away from the film that it was about loneliness, and how it consumes a person even if they’re surrounded by people.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

The scenes where the heart was involved. It was particularly fun to figure out how to make it beat. It was also fun to film and play with the lighting.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

To me Film Prize Junior New Mexico is important, because I want to be a director and I want to learn as much as I can through experience. Film Prize is great for this.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

Finding times that everyone could meet up to work. Next year we also want to work on audio quality.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

40% of making the movie is what you expect to happen and 60% is problem solving what went wrong.
