The school’s rule is that when the last bell rings, students are locked out of class and apprehended by school guards who take them to a discipline hall. One day, the students have had enough and they go on a mission for justice…and soccer practice.

FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

I hope the audience is entertained, and I hope to give inspiration to future filmmakers to make their own unique films and ideas.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

A scene that I loved filming was when the group runs out the outside door, steps on the wall and jumps off. It was the 2nd shot that we filmed when it was still light outside and we had to re-do it so many times- I’d say about 10 different times, and then they finally got it and I was ecstatic!!

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

Opportunities like Film Prize Junior are important to students today because they can learn and can have something to look forward to. They will have something to enjoy and can put their heart into something like a film project and meet cool people along the way.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

The obstacles that challenged me and my film crew the most when completing the film would be coordinating. Getting everyone to stay after school to film was really difficult. Also it seems no one checks their emails or their texts so that makes it really hard to get people’s attention and get them to answer questions.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

The advice I would give to future participants in Film Prize Junior is to envision what you want your film to look like, and try to create that vision. It’ll get difficult but don’t give up, you need to submit fully to the process.
