FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

I hope to share the idea of this mural to other people and hopefully inspire them to go out and do something for their community.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

I had a blast filming every scene! But my favorite would probably be the interview. I became good friends with Lindsay along with the making of this film and it was very fun to interview them.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

It’s important because there isn’t an easy way for students to express their creativity and make such amazing things. Film Prize Jr. gives the students the tools and opportunities they need to create films.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

The actual filming was very long and hot hours in the sun and that was quite difficult. I learned that there is so much life and fun to be had from a thing like this. I never knew a mural could bring people together like this.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Don’t let yourself get discouraged by the little things. Not everything is gonna be perfect and that’s ok.
