High school best friends, Jess and Rachael, want to venture off the school campus for lunch. Rachael must decide if she wants to go off campus alone or wait for her best friend.

FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

Being able to spread awareness that Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) is real and happening when we don’t even notice it. The MMIWR epidemic is is an issue currently affecting Tribal communities and people, especially those living in the cities.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

I think filming the last scene was a blast because it’s a key moment in the film.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

Opportunities like Film Prize Junior is important to students to make their voices heard by expressing them through film.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

The challenges the crew and I had were being able to make sure everything was shot well and not wasting time take after take. I learned that having a great film crew with dedication and hard work helped make this film successful.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Make sure you are prepared from pre-production to post-production. Having a script helped a lot with production and editing.
