LOGLINE
June, the princess of the Kingdom of the Red Rose, has been cursed, and she needs to find love in three months if she wants to live. However, the love of her life, a prince named Thedeus, doesn’t love her back! Will she get him to love her? Or will she fail, and ascend to the afterlife?
FILMMAKER INTERVIEW
What do you want the audience to take away from the film?
I want them to take away the idea that we face challenges in our lives, and not all of them can be overcome.
Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?
I enjoyed filming the shadow scenes with our entire class in a little room the size of a closet. We created some interesting special effects, and we worked together in a very small space.
Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?
The opportunities allow us to be creative and express our own points of view.
What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?
We had to do a lot of experimenting with locations, backgrounds, effects, borrowed costumes, and using our phones to film. We learned that we could make something beautiful if we worked together and solved the problems that came up.
What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?
I’d tell them to make something really meaningful to them, even if it doesn’t have a happy ending.
