FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

What we want the audience to take away from our film is to feel emotion and view our movie as a lesson. We want the audience to see that you should be there for someone who’s going through a rough time.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

The scene we had an absolute blast was when we filmed the grandma scene because it was fun being in character and being able to act like a grandma. In general, that scene was very fun to make.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

Opportunities like Film Prize junior are important to students like us because it’s an opportunity to express our talents and a way of showing what we’re capable of.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

The main obstacle that challenged us was sound design. We wanted to find the perfect sound that matched our movie. What we learned was to be more communicative with our crew in order to get things done one time and make sure they’re there.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

The advice we’d give to future film prize participants is to be more communicative with your crew and to not stress about the film. Just have fun and express yourselves through your film.
