FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

To show the world upon the dangers of nuclear war and considering what is going on in the world right now.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

A favorite part was using the green screen. This was a hybrid stop motion, and shooting the lizard climbing was fun for all of us!

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

It allows students to create their own stories and expose possibilities of careers in film making.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

Trying to figure out how to create this film and depicting the accuracy of the nuclear tastings. Also, creating the lizard was a challenge. While researching the Trinity site, we learned more about it, such as the actual location here in New Mexico.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Don’t give up on your dream, and continue creating your own story so that story telling can continue on. Don’t give up!
