FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

I hope the audience enjoys watching the chase and how the story unfolds, as well as how hard we worked to produce this film.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

One of the funniest scenes I got to film was when Diego was hiding. We got permission to film above the school’s auditorium, in the rafters, which was really cool because not many people get to go up there.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

Film Prize gives students an opportunity to explore a new passion or do something fun that they don’t usually get to try out.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

One of the biggest challenges we had was finding the right schedule. All the actors and staff that helped had other stuff going on, which made it hard to find the right times.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Don’t push things off until the last minute. Being prepared early will always show. Also, not everything will go the way you hope, but you just gotta roll with it and in the end it will turn out just right. But also enjoy yourself, and have fun! Filmmaking isn’t supposed to be something you dread.
