Warren, a middle aged man, is a sad dad who uses clowns to investigate his missing daughter.

My goal in sharing my film is just to make someone feel something. I hope there is someone who can relate, maybe not in the exact same way but I feel like a lot of people have experience with similar feelings. Whether that is loss, loneliness, or numbness. The point of art is to connect to other people in a way like no other. I want to be able to do that.

My favorite scene to shoot by far was the clowns breaking into Alexandra’s house. I feel like the actors were able to embody their characters in this scene. We got to joke around and have fun, as this was one of the more lighthearted parts. We had to do many takes of them opening the window without breaking character.

Opportunities like Film Prize Junior are an amazing way to put yourself out there and showcase many students’ talents and dedication. It unites thousands of filmmakers from all over and gives them a place to express their creative vision.

The most challenging part was staying organized and on top of everything. We were trying to fit a lot of work into a small amount of time. This leads to another big challenge: trying to find time to fit film days into everyone’s busy schedule. We had a limited amount of time to film everything during winter break. The clown’s makeup was a lot more time-consuming than expected which took a big chunk of time each day we filmed.

My advice is to just go for it. You don’t have to have all the fancy equipment to make a film. All you need is an idea and the drive to make it happen. Find people that you enjoy working with and have the same motivation that you do, and have fun. Enjoy the process and don’t stress about it. Do what you love and love what you do.
