FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

I want them to come away having had a good time, and to think more about trying to work together with people on things they are stressing about.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

The fight scenes, they were so fun and dynamic because we had to get a lot of different angles and choreography was really fun too. Im pretty happy with how they turned out in the end!

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

Because students aren’t given many opportunities to showcase their work like this, and to get experience from people who really know what their taking about. I think its an incredible experience to go through, making a movie and film prize only made it all the easier and more fun.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

Time, we found that in the end we thought we had WAYYYYY more time and ended up shooting a lot in only the span of a week. PLAN YOUR TIME BETTER, would be my advice for next time, because geez did i make myself stressed at points. I learned that sometimes i have to slow down, and everyone’s ideas are important and add a lot.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Mainly, have fun. Everyone at film prize is only there to support and help you through this, so don’t stress it too much, its supposed to be fun, not something you have to do. And if your having trouble with ideas, people say this a lot but everything has a story to tell, just go out and look around, you’ll find a lot more inspiration then you think.
