FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

I hope that others are inspired to create their own films. It’s not about having the most perfect, Oscar-worthy film. It’s a great social activity, it’s art, and it brings people together!

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

The two one-takes that we did in the hallways, scenes #4 and #7 were a lot of fun. We had to orchestrate events in one go.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

To get students interacting with film themselves, and inspiring them to try new and interesting things, whether it be a new story, a new position, or new experiences.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

Time, time, time. There is always another angle to shoot from, another take to do, more time to edit, etc. The biggest chalan for us was determining what to spend the most time on.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

Don’t take a contest like this lightly. You have the opportunity to make something you are truly proud of. Don’t waste it.
