LOGLINE

Unseen is an exhilarating and enthralling short film about 5 friends that go on a 3-day 2-night, 14-mile round trip into the Aldo Leopold Wilderness in search of largemouth bass, adventure, and memories to be made.

FILMMAKER INTERVIEW

What do you want the audience to take away from the film?

My goal is to show that people, even teenagers, value the outdoors and enjoy the time we get to spend out there. I hope to show a side of New Mexico many haven’t seen.

Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?

The scene I had the best time filming was the evening where I caught 13 largemouth bass and the biggest one weighed about 4 pounds.

Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?

It’s important to students today because it gives us students the chance to show off our skills and our passion.

What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?

The most challenging obstacle my crew and I faced during the filming of this film was keeping it under 10 minutes. We had so much more content and just couldn’t have everything we wanted in the period of 10 minutes.

What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?

I would say don’t be ashamed or don’t be embarrassed to do something you enjoy or something new. It’s always good to follow your passion and to try new things.
